Abstract

A generalized model is developed for protection of small-size ground targets from radiometric passive-active systems of millimeter range. Methods and means to reduce effectiveness of object detection on the earth's surface background are discussed. It is a method of active defence (jamming) from passive and passive-active radiometric systems that violates the system performance by influencing the input amplifier circuits of the receivers with a powerful narrow band interference. We consider a method and a device implementing for «backlighting» the pair of «ground-based object – earth's surface background» with a wide band noise signal in order to reduce the contrast «object – background» up to the values that would not allow making an unambiguous decision regarding presence/absence of the object in the given area. A method and a device for passive protection that shields an object and thus reduces the detection range of the small ground object are suggested
