ASSESSMENT OF THE MIDDLE CLASS IN THE KOMI REPUBLIC
Abstract
The article devoted to the consideration the main approaches of the definition and estimation of the scales the middle class. By the results of sociological research based on combination objective and subjective approaches the characteristics of middle class in the Komi Republic were estimated. It was detected, that among employed population the middle class amounts a little more 13%, among population aged 15-72 years – 8-9%, total among population, taking into account the average size of household – roughly 16%. Thus, after 25 years since the beginning of market transformations the middle class in the region truly was not formed yet. It scales are strongly limited by the level of average incomes of the population in the condition of persisting their significant differentiation.
