ECONOMIC SECURITY OF THE STATE IN CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL TURBULENCE: CHALLENGES AND STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

Ірина Олександрівна Шевченко

Abstract

Ensuring the economic security of the state amid global turbulence, digital transformation, energy crises, and growing geopolitical tensions is one of the key tasks of modern economic policy. Traditional approaches no longer guarantee effective counteraction to new multifactorial threats simultaneously arising in the financial, production, social, environmental, and informational spheres. The increasing role of digitalization, innovation, and the green transition requires a reconsideration of strategic approaches to ensuring economic resilience. Research objective. The aim of the research is to substantiate the features of ensuring the economic security of the state under conditions of global turbulence and to identify strategic priorities for enhancing its resilience and competitiveness at the global level. Object of the research. Economic security of the state as a complex system that ensures the sustainable development of the economy under global risks. Methods used in the research. The research employed methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, logical generalization, a systemic approach, structural-functional analysis, as well as tabular methods and graphical modeling for the visual presentation of results. Basic research hypothesis. Global turbulence, innovative technologies, and energy transformation create new risks and opportunities, requiring the development of adaptive models for ensuring economic security. Presentation of the main material of the research. The study explores changes in the structure of threats to the state’s economic security associated with digitalization, energy challenges, and innovation processes. A classification of threats by spheres of their emergence has been developed, and key indicators of economic security have been characterized. The impact of global turbulence on national economies is analyzed, and the necessity for integrating innovation development, digital transformation, and the green economy into economic security strategies is highlighted. A model for ensuring the economic security of the state considering global changes is proposed. Originality and practical significance of the research. The research offers a systemic approach to ensuring economic security by integrating innovative, energy, and digital components, which can be used for the development of national economic strategies. Conclusions and prospects for further research. Strategic priorities for ensuring economic security have been identified, including economic diversification, energy independence, digital transformation, institutional strengthening, and integration into global economic processes. Further research should focus on developing quantitative tools for assessing the level of economic security under conditions of digitalization and the green transition.
