DEFENSE-INDUSTRIAL CORRIDORS OF INDIA AS A TOOL FOR INCREASING THE INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF INDUSTRY PRODUCTION
Abstract
The study of India's defense-industrial corridors is of particular relevance in the context of a fundamental change in the theory and practice of world defense production. Studying and adapting the positive experience of increasing the investment attractiveness of defense enterprises, as well as developing appropriate methodological tools, is an extremely important area of modern scientific research. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current problems of improving the mechanism of functioning of India's defense-industrial corridors and their impact on increasing the investment attractiveness of defense enterprises. The object of the study is the process of modernization of India's defense production. Methods used in the study: methods of analysis and synthesis, gradient, detail and generalization, rating and grouping, comparative analysis, etc. The hypothesis of the study was the assumption that the creation of defense industrial corridors in India has created a strong potential for the investment attractiveness of defense production. Summary of the main material. Increasing the volume of defense spending by the state contributes to the emergence of prerequisites for its economic recovery, as it leads to increased production, new jobs, higher incomes, improved technologies and innovations. The location of the corridor is determined by assessing the potential of the territory, taking into account the existing network of defense production facilities. The defense industry corridors in India have been designed to serve as centers for planning, promotion and development of the defense production system. Without any restrictions on other regions, various nodal points for the development of the defense industry and the provision of communication with functioning defense industry enterprises and other companies were identified. It has been established that public-private partnerships and economic incentives provided to business entities that start manufacturing businesses within these defense industry corridors have helped to attract a significant amount of investment. In turn, this helped to increase the volume of domestic production of military goods. It is expected that the relevant government initiatives will contribute to India's overall strategy aimed at enhancing its role in the global economy, while increasing its national competitiveness. The originality and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the results obtained allow us to objectify the processes of development of national defense production in terms of increasing its investment attractiveness. Conclusions. Defense-industrial corridors serve not only as a powerful tool for increasing investment, but also solve the problem of achieving the national goal of transforming India from one of the world's largest arms importers into an influential arms producer and exporter. Further research involves the development of methodological tools for adapting India's experience in creating and developing defense industrial corridors in other countries, including Ukraine.
