NUMERICAL MODELLING OF A FLOW IN THE MULTISTAGE LOW PRESSURE TURBINE

Abstract


In present paper the results of a study of the interaction between the main flow and the leakage flows in a shrouded low pressure turbine are presented. The investigation was performed numerically with using of the Numeca Fine/Turbo commercial software. A number of LPT calculations with the consecutive increasing of their complexity were performed. The impact of radial gap leakages, shroud and hub cavities (with taking into account the cooling air injection) on turbine main parameters was assessed. The obtained results allowed to predict the investigated LPT efficiency that will be verified during the engine tests.
