COOLING THE INTAKE AIR OF GAS TURBINE ENGINES BY UTILIZING THE HEAT OF EXHAUST GASES FOR CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN LIBIA

N.I. Radchenko, Rami Elgerbi

The efficiency of utilizing the heat of exhaust gases from gas turbine engines to cool the air at the inlet by waste heat recovery ejector cooling machine on low boiling working fluid that includes power and cooling contours was analyzed. It was shown the dependence of heat coefficient and coefficient of ejection, specific refrigeration capacity of waste heat recovery cooling machine and air temperature decrease from boiling temperature of low boiling working fluid in the power contour of machine. The values of air temperature drop at the inlet of gas turbine engines for changeable climate conditions of the performance were calculated.
