Microwave measurements in gas turbine engines. PRINCIPLES,
POSSIBILITY AND SCOPE
A.V. Maslovskiy, M.G. Bakulin
The principles of construction of the microwave
system for measuring the radial clearances in gas turbine engines and the
possibility of using microwave measurements to solve other problems
practically. Describes the main factors influencing the
characteristics of microwave measurements and the advantages of microwave
systems to other systems of measurement of the radial clearance. The results of measurements using a microwave system for bench
testing of aircraft turbine engine. Based on the analysis of the results
of bench and laboratory tests determined the main area of application of
microwave measurement systems.
Key words: microwave sensor, tip clearance, rotor blads, high pressure turbine.
