THE cooling of high pressure turbine by air-steam mixture at take-off

K.S. Yepifanov, A. Safi

In modern gas turbine engines the working fluid temperature exceeds the operating temperature of the blade materials. Therefore, to ensure blade performance is used air-cooling system. Water injection is a one way of increasing cooling efficiency. This reduces coolant temperature coolant and increase the heat transfer rate in cooling channels. An example of the high pressure turbine working blades internal convective cooling showed that the use of water injection on takeoff will reduce the cooling air selection by 60% while while blade resource maintaining that provide a reduction in fuel consumption by 0.7%.

Key words: high pressure turbine, cooling system.
